O Carrefour e o Google anunciaram nesta terça-feira (16) que estão lançando um serviço de compras por voz na França, como parte da ambição do varejista francês de acelerar sua expansão no comércio eletrônico de alimentos.
O serviço funciona via Google Assistant – um serviço de assistência de voz digital em smartphones e outros dispositivos – e faz parte de uma parceria estratégica entre as duas empresas iniciada em junho de 2018, informou o comunicado conjunto.
“Essa inovação, desenvolvida com o Google, acelerará ainda mais a trajetória do comércio eletrônico no Carrefour”, disse Amelie Oudea-Castera, diretora executiva de comércio eletrônico, dados e transformação digital do Carrefour.
O Carrefour está no meio de uma revisão global para aumentar as vendas e os lucros e planeja investir 2,8 bilhões de euros em comércio digital até o final do ano, diante da concorrência da Amazon.
O objetivo é aumentar as vendas de comércio eletrônico de alimentos para 4,2 bilhões de euros até 2022, ante 1,3 bilhão de euros em 2019 e 1 bilhão de euros em 2018.
O novo serviço permitirá que os usuários que associam sua conta do Google à conta do Carrefour adicionem itens a uma lista de compras dizendo palavras genéricas como manteiga ou leite ou nomes de produtos ou marcas.
O Assistant, que está conectado ao inventário de comércio eletrônico do Carrefour, converte a lista em um carrinho de produtos disponíveis no site Carrefour.fr.
Os itens específicos adicionados ao carrinho de compras pelo Google Assistant refletem as preferências do produto do usuário, enquanto oferecem a opção de excluir, modificar ou adicionar produtos.
